please welcome a new member to the mojuba label family, sirko müller. to some of you sirko might not be so unknown, because hes in the game since the mid 90s and is one of the founding members of the label tokomak records, which was also founded by mojuba head honcho don williams back in the days, and he recorded also tracks for pure plastic sublabel rewired, styrax and milnor modern. after a long hiatus sirko is now ready for some new action, so to reintroduce him to you we decided to put out some of his classic tracks as well as some unreleased bits! its quite hard to believe that these tracks are from about a decade ago, because they are still sounding fresh but also capture that little dirt and roughness which still remembers to the early years of clubbing!

i dont think i know, or heard of, anyone who share the same obsession in searching obscure disco records like kool dj dust (real name daniel savio). call him at any given time and he is in some flee market or second hand shop on the look-out for records. he even got an apartment just for his collection.
we talked about the idea of re-releasing >un-googable< music, old stuff that is not only very hard to find, but also so good that re-issueing it is an actual cultural necessity. dust tossed around with a few ideas and finally these three songs made the cut. we are very happy with them!

after several hot tunes on worthy’s anabatic imprint, birminghams tom flynn joins the ranks of the dirtybird crew. i ve battle tested the a-side of this record all around the world. >catch that bird< is a rare mix of deep rooted funk whilst also sounding like a caribbean jungle track pitched down to 126. my favorite!
i d play this ep just on the strength of the a-side but i feel like a lot of attention will also be given to the b-side called >rhode island<. this is a classic piece of deep house with all the melodic elements of a dirtybird jam.
tom sent me at least 7 tracks before i signed these so the guy is certainly prolific and i expect to hear quite a bit more from this up and comer this year.

here it is, the third release on the snuff crew label snuff trax! on snuff trax 003 you find winter in june. you might already know this track from the snuff crew livesets. winter in june is maybe the most melodic snuff trax release so far. this floating music is not only for the body - it s also something for the heart. on the b-side, dance disorder, who release on labels like bpitch control, deliver a fantastic and very epic remix. this mix was also already played by snuff crew in their set for tim sweeneys beats in space show. stx 003 is limited to 250 hand-numbered vinyls.

a spiral of evolving and heady, sample-laden tracks unfurl on paco osunas latest ep, a richly produced melding of continent-spanning talent, with paco partnering up in the studio with real-life amigos daniel sanchez, alex under, joseph capriati and alexi delano. the amigos ep presents driven, moving grooves with satiating build ups, over densely-layered samples and drums. osunas seasoned skill-sets in the dj booth and as a producer come together knowingly in this release. osuna and his dutch/spanish counterpart daniel sanchez combine melodic and percussive samples in kawuriel, whilst with madrids alex under as his cohort, osuna transfixes with waaaa - featuring a distinctive pitch shifting sound throughout its phasing. your understanding of its unusual name will become abundantly clear upon the first listen. also notable is wope, which contains woodblock-esque percussion samples that compliment the rolling bass, co-produced with italian musician joseph capriati. the eps finale, waxfix, is a combination of the talents of osuna and swedens alexi delano, resulting in another cleverly-derived arrangement of steady bass drums and strong high hats. its a well-locked and smoothly syncopated, loop-based groove

prompt has been producing electronic music since the mid 90s and during this time has made a string of outstanding eps, some of which have even won awards. but who exactly is this man from madrid: prompt? to stand on a stage and party for hours in his own world is not prompts style. he would rather sit in the background of his studio and create unforgettable and ever more fascinating tunes. his debut ep on highgrade set the tone for his convincing mix of sound design and subtle hooks. these are also the most important elements for his new highgrade release. in >sharing sounds< its all about deepness. expressed through dense loopy forests and deep broken valleys. you have to engage in the sound experience and see the world prompt has built for you. few other techno producers have such a distinctive style or unique voice. with this ep you could be blindfolded on the dance floor and you would still recognize the music. the sound will convince you once again, both in the club and on the turntables at home.

the third instalment of the bitches brew limited 10-inch series is the darkstarr remix and darkstarr dub of >dont do it< by salvador santana. the 10-inch is designed and hand-printed by artist james morrison so that each record is unique. salvador santana is a hip hop / soul singer / songwriter / keyboardist and is also the son of carlos santana. his debut album >keyboard city< saw contributions from bay area legends such as del the funky homosapien, gza of wu-tang clan and beastie boy studio wizard money mark who also co-wrote >dont do it<. the darkstarr production duo of ashley beedle and cosmo were asked to do a remix and bitches brew has released the results on vinyl on this special 10-inch series. their darkstarr mixes have received big support from musical selectors as diverse as the lofts david mancuso all the way to shit robot.

track 5, a previously unreleased single meant for >the days of mars< album, but ultimately deemed out of place on the record, begins with the slow reveal of a repeating electronic ring atop a rising, falling, sine-curving synth. with each additional layer—a piercing, urgent synthesizer, a deep, continuous, ever-expanding rumble, the sound of a guitar, awash in reverb—the atmosphere thickens. its both restless and placid, anxious and tranquil. just over ten minutes in length, the track closes with a chorus of high-pitched synths that fade to a sparse, darkened end. this 12-inch, very likely gonzalez and russoms last, also features a remix from Âme, comprised of germanys kristian beyer and frank wiedemann. the house duo wholly transforms the a-side into a track so unrecognizable it seems brand new, taking it far from the introspective dreamworld to a dance party in the sweaty, blissed-out, wee hours of the morning

vibrations is a new label set up by christopher galloway and piers harrison of roots unit. the first release comes from the ever-dependable and very busy mark e, who drops two killer jams for the dancefloor. escape is a bassline driven banger that drops into a hefty loop half-way through – large. the flip, midnight fires, is a more introspective, techno influenced cut, with crazy jazzy drums and swirling synths. we are thinking about early morning dancefloors for this one. escape is also remixed by roots unit, who add chicago house elements within a reggae aesthetic.

nice price deal !!! after more than one year slash co-owner ahmet sisman is back with his brand new solo ep! the playing with acid ep is an unapologetic combination of raw-deep techno and electro-pop influenced house music. and as we know it already from mr. sisman, he loves to combine different genres and create his own distinctive flavor! the a-side playing with acid is a pure synthie-baseline dominated track whose melody is drilling through your head that you won’t forget it so easily. this trapping hook line is coming along with some poppy vocals which are giving you a slight association how is it feeling being totally vaporized in the mind. we say, be careful when you playing with acid!!! feel today think tomorrow has a different approach while the ingredients remain the same. it’s the more melancholic side of this record but also filled with pure energy. the guitar phrases creating those feelings between the struggle and harmony in life, and like the title indicates: live today, pay tomorrow! no return no regret is the more poppy side of this record. the b2-side is a mixture of modern elements bonded with the refreshing vibe of the contemporary 80s influence. this fusion is a naive approach of pooling different styles in one track with the intention to create something timeless. even its poppy elements doesn’t seem to allow it we going to love it for a long time and we hope you will feel the same! this three-tracker ep contains the well known “mr. sisman-ingredients”. although the difference to his previous productions laying in its details. find it out for yourself and above all: enjoy it!!!

12inch full of music with a definite sense of place. eerie synthesiser pulses, funk-infused drums and languid guitar-scapes have been part of the musical topology of düsseldorf since the early seventies: and this particular release pays full tribute to that legacy, with jagd auf den hirsch (hunt for the stag) comprising an eerie piece of swampy lazer-forest rock. this sound is also a modern day staple of düsseldorfs nightlife at the salon des amateurs, a small bar attached to the kunsthalle art gallery that is an oasis of hypnotic disco nightmares. the salon is where der räuber und der prinz made their first live appearance in 2008 (when the original composition for moogwalzer was debuted), and both members of the band frequently play there: ralf beck with his bodyrocking club act unit 4 and sebastian as half of art-rock duo noblesse oblige. meanwhile two of the guests on this release - detlef weinrich also known as toulouse lowtrax, contributing words about a ghostly maiden on moogwalzer, and thomas klein contributing drums to jagd auf den hirsch - are both original members of the quintessential düsseldorf act kreidler. salon dj resident vladimir ivkovic also had a hand in the creative clarion call for the jagd auf den hirsch (hunt for the stag). to complete the circle, düsseldorfs new resident and desolat mainstay guti wrote his remix in the middle of the night in buenos aires, as a kind of letter to his new home-to-be. there we have it: a true tribute to a city we love, with tracks for the dancefloor as well as moments of melancholic contemplation.

2010 has seen some juicy, off-the-wall techno/electronic vinyl goodies from the head space of little nobody, including the acclaimed >metropolis how?< and >robota< records - with remixes by the likes of james ruskin, justin berkovi, inigo kennedy, dj hi-shock, si begg, patrick pulsinger and steve stoll. but its the originator of the tracks who continues to push the perimeters, recently leading hi-shock, the prolific innovator behind the essential elektrax empire, to suggest that honestly, i think you are at least a couple of years ahead in your musical vision compared to other producers. little nobodys alter ego andrez bergen has also had his head buried this year in the creation of a hardboiled/noir/sci-fi novel called >tobacco-stained mountain goat<, and it was in the midst of this project - with these heady influences - that the get away from it all 12-inch project came to light. thus we got on board bas mooy (planet rhythm/audio assault) and dave tarrida (tresor/musick) to do the two scintillating re-takes here, which are downright brilliant. meanwhile little nobodys troll, on the flip-side, lives up to its claim: its hardboiled and devastatingly dirty electronica. all up, think streetwise, smack-your-glitch-up techno - dark, uber-bassy, dirty and pulsating - just the way we like it, with sardonic samples and a freestyle, postmodern attitude thats invigorating. matched up with the cool artwork by marcin markowski, this is an essential slab of wax for 4:00 am head-caving techno!

tiagos >disambiguation< begins like an aural sea, with a surface made of synthesized swells that rise, fall and crest again. beneath these waves are briefly clangorous metallic noises, searing electro hisses, long-armed synth stretches, and a never ending beat. there are moments of understated beauty floating through this perfect marriage of disco and house, sounds that are there and gone: a bassline that stairsteps and synthetic strings that follow suit: playful keyboard melodies, and percussion provided by tiago himself, who fell in love with music when he learned to play drums as a kid. >nada a perder< (>nothing to lose<) shies away from the extravagance suggested by its name and instead feels relaxed – at least at its outset. against shape shifting synths and the sound of piano house, percussion takes a leading role here, including finger snaps and clanging cowbells. the energy builds to a peak but, even when things are at their most frenetic, this track never loses its studied composure. tiago mirandas remixes and releases have been issued on disco devil, italians do it better, rong music, ene, hands of time, eskimo and claremont 56. he is one half of dj duos slight delay, the sea power & change, and mendes & alçada, and also handles mutiple duties in the band gala drop. tiago has been djing seven hour sets almost every weekend for more than a decade at the infamous lux in lisbon, portugal.

first on decks .de !!! sa007 sees perc and modern heads create the first collaborations between these two core stroboscopic artefacts artists. the result is a punishing hybrid of percs dubstep tendencies and modern heads cutting techno. a-side >mendax< is cavernous. built upon solid dub foundations, it spills over into grinding, metallic territory. if the titles to be believed it takes inspiration from the shady world of lies and deceit. the atmosphere seems to agree, theres certainly something mendacious at work here. b1 takes the eps atmosphere and adds abrasion. in >percdax< cold, hard percussion is layered over a bed of warm dub. closer >moddax< errs on the eerie. it skulks, is full of sticky bleeps and the result is unnervingly dubbed out. all three track titles share the same suffix and if this indicates that they also share one quality its that theyre best heard in the glinting shadows of a club just before day break. sa007 was craftily mastered by artefacts mastering, berlin.

nikola gala has been producing for the past 10 years and received big attention during the years 2004-2005 by the music industry for the release of the track >swing 2 harmony< along with the perasma band. at the same time he produced some well respected tracks which found home on labels like deep records, intrinsic, fokused, sprout music, precinct, renaissance, lost language audio therapy and now also on plastic city again.

its been a while for mr lovebirds and also the label teardrop to serve some fresh slices of homemade house jam. well, we think it better not to put out every bonus beat we program and rather wait until we have something that really deserves to be thrown in todays pool of musical randomness. do we sound bitter again? sorry, for that … must be the age. so … love & happiness. yeah, i want that and probably everybody does … well here ya go: its a slick slow house bomb with proper oldskool 909 drums and some sliding portamento chords that wont never leave your head!! at least until the breakdown when this track takes you even further back in time to that beautiful intro that has rarely been used more beautifully. its been tested for months now by vincenzo, phonique and mr bird himself and devestated every floor so far. let me put it this way - this is biiiig!!!! flipside is the rain - classic 90ies deephouse with a touch of kerri which we all love right? this has the typical lovebirds warmth that we all need in these modern techno times. and in this autumn too. none other than mr steve bug took care of the remix and delivered a superb very 90ies new yorican style version. keeping the warmth he added some percussion to it and turned this into a nice builder. enough talk … we are very excited about this release and looking forward to your full love on this one. play it loud and everywhere!! and maybe even chart it if youre a good lad!!

dimitri kneppers (1967) music career reads like an encyclopedia. a house encyclopedia. after 23 years of spinning records you could call this dj a true veteran. known for his enormous sensitivity, true feeling and mixing skills he gives you the sense you are the voyeur of an intimate act between two lovers. the music and the man. but nobody ever felt and looked so comfortable behind the decks as dj dimitri, for he brings the crowd at ease like don juan would do with women. when ecstasy is no longer just a word, but a true magical moment as the crowd, the surroundings and the music all come together in one hypnotizing state of happiness. this man knows -or should we say feels- what he is doing, not only behind the decks but also when producing. in september 2007 dimitri said goodbye to his headphones to work on a farm with mentally handicapped people. fortunately for his fans the break wasnt premanent in the middle of last year he installed a studio in his home, then this past june he returned to the decks - now he makes his planet e debut with a stunning track already tearing up dancefloors. included is the first of two remixes by carl craig. a second ep with remixes by orlando voorn and carl craig will appear in early 2011

vinyl edition (7x12inch) is limited to 1500 copies ww!!! ostgut ton releases this unique compilation of music crafted from field recordings made inside the two berlin clubs berghain and panorama bar. the concept and original recordings were made by the berlin based producer emika. over a period of two months emika created the recordings in the clubs while they were closed to the public and edited them into a library of sounds. the library was then given to all the ostgut ton artists, but also to club associates like dj pete aka substance, dinky, cassy, margaret dygas, ryan elliott and scuba using his scb alias, to make music with. this release marks the celebration of the labels five year anniversary!!
